For the love of Crusade. A short animation that may not be played at the 2004 Republican Convention.

And with any luck it won't be played anywhere else... that was bad.

Well, that was certainly ... heavy-handed.

"Commander Bush" - with that package a better name may be suited. Wonder if a Halloween costume has been created for "Captain Package."

Also, please take it here.

Oh, it was funny. You know that's exactly what he has in mind for the U.N.

Why do computer nerds all sound the same when they do voiceovers for flash cartoons and stop-motion animation?

The secret is that it's just one uber-nerd.

Sublime post.

Absolutely transcendental.

Subtle, gorgeously rendered satire delivered with impeccable restraint and aplomb.

Somewhere midway through the Quicktime clip, I felt as though I'd been air-dropped right into the heart of Heaven. Lo, I should never descend to Earth again if common terrestrial Art is anything less than this movie.

This is It, people. It's what mathowie has been anticipating since he wrote those first few lines of Cold Fusion many moons ago. "Best of the web" was just Haugheyese for "Hackneyed Political Post". This is our highest watermark yet, the post to end all posts.

The apotheosis of bloggery.

The silver crest of the religio-political sphere.

It's the cumulative effort of a thousand years of political punditry and theology, neatly coalesced in this taut, stunning Quicktime piece.

And all of you who witnessed it now have a glorious story to tell your grandkids on some cold night fifty years from now when they ask if you've ever witnessed Greatness. "Yes," you'll say, "though it was badly compressed."

Well at least this thread gave us Dhoyt's post.

dhoyt actually penned the bible with God himself, ghost-wrote the Declaration of Independence for Thomas Jefferson, and is currently compiling his own language called "dhoytese".

"So glad they can take the piss out of their political leaders... That 'fweedom', it distracts them - to work so hard to get those, whaddya call 'em, ah yes, those 'votes'"

"What shall we do with this.. how do they say..Mer..no, Mormon missionary, your Excellency?"

"Off with his head!"

"Off with his head it is, sir. Shall I... thwow him to the gwound?"

"Thwow him to the gwound - and then - burn down his church!!"

"Right you are, sir."

"Then, get me Karl on the SatPhone - I need some guidance on these upcoming votes to the town councils...is it still Diebold, or can we hack EVS as well via modem?"

so why can't I play it? My quicktime says video compressor can't be found or something, but I can play other quicktime clips just fine...

Ok, I upgraded to iTunes and can see it now. I love it. Harsh, but true. I don't believe it's off the record that Bush has stated he believes God put him in the White House.

It would have at least been sit-through-able if the guy had just asked anybody he knew who had an actual LOW VOICE to do the voice-over. That pathetic scratchy voice was the most god-awful part. Oh yeah, except for the animation itself, of course.

Also: What Ryvar said re: dhoyt.
