You almost get the feeling folks don't like him.

Good read

How much of it is Bushs fault is disputable though... Kerry will be just as bad. I'll just be very European and blame all you Americans for being dumbasses driving your SUVs and eating godknowswhatsinit fast food and who don't give a shit about politics/democracy/good government. And those 5 states that don't use the word evolution in their texts. Well, that kinda speaks for itself - hurry up and evolve for fucks sakes.

And yes, this is just a pointless flame. Please ignore and move along

What is this 2000? Have we not learned anything?

That's the point - before 2000 I thought there was a good bit of difference - Good old Bill was over helping out the peace process, we all liked him and America.

Then there was the 'elections'. Disbelief. after reading this book I thought I'd edumicate myself and learn a bit about American democracy and Freedom. Found there wasn't actualy that much to it. If the big bad elite few are behind you then you win - nice and democratic that.

If Kerry wins it's because it suits a few people (and yes, the tinfoil hat is firmly on)

Yeah Witty, we can prove just about anything using these "fact" thingies can't we?

The FPP link is overloaded I think (or at least I can't get it to load); is there a mirror or cache somewhere?

waxy linked to this nice overview of word usage too.

Since this is on the web, it'd be nice if it was footnoted. I can tell a lot of those figures were exaggerated slightly, or coaxed into providing a point (it might say "top pentagon officials" instead of simply "pentagon officials" so they could get the stat they wanted to demonstrate a point).

I would imagine if it was footnoted with all sources, some crazy blogger kid would check up on everything, find a few that were suspect, and call the editorial board a bunch of liars (even though campaign commericals from both sides do the same thing).

petebest said it best in this thread:

[wackybrit wrote] "At the end of the day it doesn't matter which of these clowns wins, they're puppets controlled from the back rooms of Washington."

[To which petebest replied] "Different rooms. It does matter."

Yeah, how dare these Kerry supporters play the facts card? that's treasonous!

It's silly and stupid to suggests that there is no difference.

The differences between any two candidates aren't going to cause a major swerve in the US machine. But minor swerves, yes. And if anyone thinks that minor serves don't matter, then hey, check out the vote on women's suffrage.

Gits.

Who used "Girlie Men" at the Republican Convention? Please let it be Arnie. Please... Please!
