Mount Saint Helens Web Cam provided by the US Forestry Service. Just in case. Also, Valerie Smith's Mount Saint Helens pages, and a comprehensive Mount Saint Helens site from the US geological survey.
I, for one, welcome our new Mt. St. Helens insect overlords [via waxy]

Looks like they either blocked it or throttled it as soon as traffic ramped.
Watching it on TV, it appears to have been a burp. one steam colum, now dissipating, and an ash cloud falling out to the wets, I think.

Damn, I knew if I stepped away from my office, the thing would blow. From my view right now, it's all gone. Maybe there will be another one.

Scroll down, looking right, click on Live Video Under Steam Cloud Rises Above Mt. St. Helens. It's from a plane or the KIRO 7 helicopter.

As a former employee of the Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument (two summers at the main office down in the other Vancouver), it's the US Forest Service.
Not much more insight other than it's beautiful during the summer as long as there's no steam coming out. If there is steam, and/or an eruption, a lot of hard work building the visitors' centers goes down the tubes as well as a lot of property and maybe some lives. KATU is streaming it live.

Excuse me for being probably obnoxious, but this was so I am sharing this with everyone I know.
I work near Mount St. Helens, and I got to fly up in a Cesna and look into the volcano's crater after the eruption.
It was awesome and exciting.
