George Bush shoots and kills D.C. police officer

In 1889, George Bush shoots and kills an innocent bystander then shoots and kills the D.C. police officer pursuing him. "Although mortally wounded, Officer Crippen found Bush hiding in a room and shot him twice."
And that's how the Bush family had bad blood with D.C.
Dang, those Bush's have NEVER shown proper respect for authority.
I'd love to see Kerry pull this out tonight. No wait, no I wouldn't.

By the total impotence vested in me by being one of the first and oldest MeFites, I hereby declare that "Bush Bashing" (while a sport I did take some joy in at times of the past) has totally JUMPED THE SHARK, JUMPED THE FARK and JUMPED THE SHADENFREUDE.
This may the silliest link ever posted on MetaFilter. I just wish omidius (or his source, if he didn't find this singlehandedly) would try to use his powers of Extreme Ultimate Google-Fu for good, not evil.

hey wendell, this was actually not a result of my exquisite google-fu! I was searching the DC government's site (where I live) for information on a bar my uncle owns here in the city, the saloon. The search rendered these results . The first link is the one about the killing.
Maybe there should be a free-association exercise to every questionable link pulled from the internet.

I dunno -- if Bush Bashing has jumped the shark, then everything would be downhill from here. Though I'm not sure whether that would be a good thing or a bad thing, I am pretty sure we could officially stop watching.

Slightly off topic. The memorial website to D.C. officers killed in the line of duty is actually pretty interesting. I'd say it's post-worthy even without the odd reference to the president.
