The Dolmette. It's a motorcycle, see. But it's not a normal motorcycle, 'cause it's powered by 24 chain saw engines.

The intense pace and pressure soon told on the charming pit crew, the ladies’ handball team from Süderbrarup, who only managed to get 20 of the DOLMETTE’s 24 engines running. So Andi Feldmann had to make do with the power output from just 20 chainsaw engines...

Send some of those girls over... I've a recalcitrant Poulan and I could use a little help getting started.

Did I mention I got a 16-inch blade?

That's gotta suck to start up.

Its an interesting concept, I'm sure its a bugger to start as others have already noted but I would also guess that its a bugger to steer too.

And don't even think about splitting lanes on that monster, you'd be road pizza in a minute.

I like it, as art, but I I am partial to custom jobs like Allen Millyard's amazingly clean looking 2300cc V12 project, now that's two 1300 cc engines mated together to make a V12! The technical challenges are astonishing and the bike, from the reviews, rides like a dream (a very, very big dream!).

I would so love to tool up next to a bunch of fully accessorized Harleyboys astride this herebadass wheelbarrow.

A little background here.

Werner is a very popular German comic book figure. He's a plumber's apprentice who has a bunch more or less unsavoury friends in a motorcycle gang. Werner is loosely based on his author. A few years ago, there was a race both in the comic and in real life between Holgi's red Porsche and a heinous bike with 6 Horex engines ganged together (the "Redporschekiller").

This bike appears to be the latest incarnation.

That wheelbarrow rules.

Couldn't you use one of the Dolmette's engines to start the rest up, kind of like a multi-engine aircraft does? Start one by hand, and then engage the clutches on the rest one by one. (You'd have to use something other than the centrifugal clutch that comes with the chainsaw.)

That wheelbarrow does rule! Totally badass!

Though if you really want to quiet down the Hog boys, pitch up on Jay Leno's Jet Bike. Anything that gets faster and faster and has a 2 second delay between throttling down and actually starting to slow down is seriously bad ass!
