THE PRINCIPLES OF JEWISH BUDDHISM -- 12. To Find the Buddha, look within. Deep inside you are ten thousand flowers. Each flower blossoms ten thousand times. Each blossom has ten thousand petals. You might want to see a specialist.
And there's even a term now: Jubu

There's a very wry book by Roger Kamenetz, called 'The Jew in the Lotus,' about his quest for Tibetan Buddhism. The title is a play on the Tibetan mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum," which translates roughly as "[All hail] to the Jewel in the Lotus."

Why do the Jewish people get top billing all the time?

Doesnt BuJew sound just as good?

i too resent this selfish, manifestly malevolent ordering of syllables...

Nah, and it refers to people brought up Jewish, so putting that first makes sense. If it were Buddhists switching to Judaism, then BuJu would work.

Not nearly as good (or as long!) as Xmas as a Jewish Holiday (discussed here)

My favorite buddist teacher is Jewish: Shinzen Young. He's a really good teacher, and has to be the kindest person I've ever met.

He explains Buddhism in a very "western" way, using a lot of science and very clear explanations. They also play his dharma talks on KPFK's Something's Happening. Ther's a few talks on his web site, too.

Oh, what a fun link and thread. Yay! And I loved..."would it kill you to find a nice sentient being who was Jewish?"
