Agreed: nice post. But being a technical writer, I do recommend the Wikipedia page very useful for techie images. The generosity of terms for US .gov sites - mostly, all they want is the proper attribution - puts UK sources to shame.

A colleague of mine is building a completely free image site that currently has over 1,200 images on there and is growing all the time.

dammit! I'm at work (not a creative job!) and some of these images are sparking ideas that are making me itch for photoshop and some time to play with them!
