Remember that Citroen Transformer breakdancing? Sure, some of us love it because it was a sweet ride and deep down inside, we all want to be sporting an Autobot. Of course this begs the question "who could actually afford one?"
Well now thanks to consumers driving down prices, there is an alternative.

My folks had a Citroen Type 2 when we lived in Wales. It was a convertible model. The canvas back would flip back and you could set up a tent from it. Beautiful, quirky car.

I was just going to say, please lets leave "beg the question" as a deliciously misunderstood tool for fuzzy meaning, but I see I am too late. jack_mo, please, if you are going to take this from us why don't you suggest another almost universally misused phrase that fits every discussion?

I felt the 2CV danced with more honest emotion, more of the raw real-people energy of the street. This was a disenfranchised car, angry at its lot. The C4's better dancing was just corporate polish, something any car could learn at a 2 week dancing seminar.

Thanks for the correction on my grammatical error! Unfortunately, grammar is not my strong suit (however I did labor over making sure I thought I had everything correct in this post).

What should I have said instead of "begs the question?"

You know the worst part of me not knowing my grammar is that my wife is a Spanish/English teacher and my father-in-law is an English professor!

I hate to be pigeonholed as a grammatician of any poor calibre but in this case what is intended must have been "raises the question."

Probably "raises the question", "prompts the question", or something along those lines. That, or retooling the sentence completely, like:

"[W]e all want to be sporting an Autobot. Then again, who could afford one?"

Nevermind. My Google-fu sucks. I should have searched for 'citroen ad theme' in the first place. Then I would have discovered right away that the song is Jacques Your Body (Make Me Sweat) by Les Rythmes Digitales.
