Return To Flight

Three days and Counting Breathe deep, mine eyes, the frosty saga of eternal suns. From unseen depths and dreams undreamt, I sing the gleaming cantos of unvanquished space. By thought I embrace the universal, With wings of mind I sail the infinitude. Glory! 'tis the stars which beckon man's spirit and set our souls adrift!

Poem by Hart Crane, 1930. The space shuttle returns to where it was meant to be.

I have no comment to add other than, "HELL YEAH!"

and possibly, "Hey guys, let's try not to blow it up this time, m'kay?"

I'm really looking forward to the Karl Rove story too!

They still use these outdated things? Tsk, tsk...

Thanks for the poem! Wish the shuttle was as exciting.

I don't even like the shuttle all that much anymore, but this is very exciting. I can't understand any spaceflight not being exciting.

No matter how dangerous it is, No matter how many times folks say that this isn't the best way to go into space, I would get on this thing in a hearbeat.

It's the only game in town right now, and if you want to play you have to be in THIS game.

In a few years the Chinese may offer some options, but I am betting they won' t be offering crew spots to folks from other places.

One good poem deserves another....

"Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth..."

I don't watch launches for the same reason I don't watch NASCAR. Exciting? Yes. Eventful? Unfortunately. Product Tie-ins? I'm way too gullible.

Probably still have 40 year old Space Food SticksĀ® lodged in my colon.

Oh, I *loved* those things. Do they still make them?
