Impeach Bush, Buchanan says

Pat Buchanan calls for Bush's impeachment Pat Buchanan says Bush should be impeached for his failure to enforce immigration laws. Is he just trying to have something to say on the McLaughlin Group?
I'm all for impeaching Bush, but over immigration laws? Huh?

Jack Van Impe getting mad at Pat Robertson? Pat Buchanan calling for the impeachment of Bush?
It's a topsy-turvy world, I tells ya.

Buchanan's been down on Bush and the mainstream republican party in general for several years now.
In fact I'd be very surprised to learn that this was the first time Buchanan had called for his impeachment.

Bush just likes Mexicans, one thing I agree with him about. These Lou Dobbs/Bucannan xenophobes types can suck it. They'll never have their way because most Americans just don't care.
And honestly, who has the energy to get worked up over something like this at this point in time?

I want Bush impeached too, but over immigration law?
I have trouble thinking of a dumber reason.

Big Business likes lax immigration enforcement because it gives them cheap labor who can't sue if they are hurt or injured.
Politicians like Big Business because they get money from them.
The people who could change this situation are benefiting from it. Don't hold your breath waiting for change.

Gallup Refuses To Run Poll Asking Americans If Bush Should Be Impeached--
Independent democrats say Gallup's response is dishonest and the company is using a double standard when considering the nationwide poll run during the Clinton presidency.

"What are these Bush Republicans afraid of? Dirty looks from the help at the country club?"
Wow, Pat.
Buchanan, much as I like the idea of having a traditional conservative voice in the media, would eat his spleen on live TV if it stayed in the news cycle for a week.
That said, I'm always disappointed when he doesn't really run against mainstream Republicans. He'd split off some of their base, but he's too much of a sissy.
(Best joke: Did you hear that Buchanan's father died in a concentration camp? He fell off one of the guard towers.)

Xenophobe = those who believe in the enforcement of immigration law? Count me in! And please, jerk your knee a little more, I thought you were sleeping.

If you mean run as in for office, he did - -as a 2000 Reform Party candidate, remember?
And honestly, who has the energy to get worked up over something like this at this point in time?
Do you have a meter with which you parcel out discrete packets of interest and energy? Like an FPS health bar?

Buchanan got slimed by Bush I's dirty tricks squad the last time he ran for the Republican nomination ('88? '92?). W, if I recall, was the party loyalty enforcer, herding the faithful back to the fold. The two men have a hatred for each other that is far deeper than either's commitment to conservative principles or the Republican party.

It is a dark day indeed - I agree with Pat Buchanan on something. Of course, if it will get rid of that fuckwit, I'm all for it. Remember folks, Capone was taken down for tax evasion, not being a murdering gangster. The former does not negate the latter

Actually, it is a national security problem, but not for the reason that Buchanan lists. Turns out that when illegals are caught, mexicans are sent back to mexico, but other nationalilitys are accepted by mexico. So they get a court date and are turned loose. And of course 90% don't show up for that court date. So basically we only deport people who are unlikely to be terrorists.
