Pig Hitler!
September 8, 2005 7:32 AM Subscribe
Bizarre music video featuring a cgi animated Nazi army composed of anthropomorphized piglets. The video is for a song called Shvayne by a 19 year old Russian singer named Natasha Ionova, who performs under the name Glukoza. Video is embedded flash animation.
Because every day needs a little nazi imagery to brighten it up.

So, Nazi Pigs versus the Have a Nice Day smiley face bridage and the blonde leader, presumably the singer.
And I thought the Japanese made weird stuff.

Two things: I wish more people could hear their favorite pop songs done in a foreign language first, it forces you to focus on just how bad the 'music' part of it is. Secondly; how does a band from Russia afford that kind of video?
overall, I thought it was pretty cool (bad metaphors aside).

That 3D was a LOT of work. My guess is they they licensed a pre-existing short and just laid their music on top of it.

See, there's this Russian oil magnate who's trying to accomodate his psychologically damaged artist niece, so he's set up a privatized prison where he's gotten all of the prisoners to work on rendering... Oh, wait. That's the plot of William Gibson's "Pattern Recognition".
What's up with all the 60th anniversary stuff anyway? China's been commemorating the "War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression" in a big way. Guess they figure there won't be many participants left for the 75th anniversary...

The gist I'm getting from it is very anti-pop/anti-go with the flow. (Anyone out there more fluent in Russian idioms?)

Her Label is a part of a company that also produces 3D animated films. The animation team created all the videoclips for Glukoza and as you can see – they´re really good.

Heh most amusing, excellent vid, one of those simple-annoying tunes that worms it's way into your head and won't leave for the rest of the day. Facists, check - LOTR, check - but what's with the golden soother HitlerPig retrieves from the vault?

1. Save SWF file. 2. Decompile SWF file to find FLV source. 3. Save FLV source. 4. Export FLV to suitable file format. 5. Save audio (Sound Forge can capture all audio going to the speakers). 6. Compile video+audio in VirtualDub, correct for any time-shifts, convert to proper FPS. 7. Host file on public tracker. 8. All done!
I'd about given up on the embedded video stopping and starting.

(While that may seem excessive, it actually only took a few minutes. The annoying part was that Flash MX wouldn't export the audio, necessitating steps 5 and 6. Otherwise it would have taken all of 2 minutes, tops.)

funny eXile bit:
Fans Boycott GlukoZa Concert
MOSCOW -- Young Russian pop star GlukoZa was booed off-stage during her performance at Luzhniki Stadium last week after fans realized that her microphone had been switched on during the entire concert, and she was singing every song live, rather than lip-synching.
I agree it's a lot of work but I also think it's originally produced for her. The platinum-blonde rebel leader seems to be modeled on Glukoza herself. It's really amazing stuff -- references galore, from Hitler's jig to LOTR to the great aviation film of the 1920s called Wings.
According to a post in the Glukoza forum, from the Russian edition of Rolling Stone (?!):
The artists -animatory of Maxim Fadeyev's studio finished the work on the clip to the new song of glukoza under the working name "shvayne" ("pigs"). The work on the clip was conducted ten times by animatorami in the course of the 3rd months. In the battle scenes participate more than 20 000 characters
Unfortunately, I couldn't find out anything more about Maxim Fadeyev, other than that he's really a record producer: here's an article on his suite of pop bands including Glukoza.

The wounds of the Great Patriotic War will never heal. Even for foxy 19-yr old pop stars. Beating the shit out of Hitler's "grey-green slugs" still resonates with great power, 60 years on. "Schweine," nicht var?
