The Chinese in California

The Chinese in California 1850-1925. The site is poorly designed. To get to the content click Essays & Galleries. To get to the photos, click on the (practically hidden) gallery link at the top right of each short essay.
A great post. And you are right about the site design, most of the American Memory sites follow the same template, with all the good stuff hidden away.

safetyfork writes "[F]or ye of lazy bones"
Thanks safetyfork, I guess I resemble that remark since I didn't do that myself.

Cool! I'm only still discovering how many stories thread together with that of White Guys in the West. Early California seems like one of those locus points in history that only come along every few centuries but reward in full all the attention you can give them. Thanks!

Aye, but you did do the initial digging so you perhaps only resemble that remark from afar and in 3/4 profile.
