RPS-15 (and, if you can handle it, RPS-25) for when traditional "Rock, Paper, Scissors" is just not enough.

RPS has recently revived itself at my high school. Kids are using it as a 'Bubblegum' type game, playing it out between groups as large as 7 people, or more, to see who has to pay for dinner, go ask for a girls number, etc. I don't know if we could handle 15 though...

All this violation of the transitivity of "beats" bothers me a lot.

"You ask for her number."
"No, you ask!"

I fear for the future of the human race if this is the behavior now going on at our high schools.

How the heck does cockroach beat wolf?

Sleeps in fur of wolf.

I'm just repeating here.

From the spoken outcomes image, cockroach sleeps in fur of wolf. No, I don't know how that beats him either.

Gah.. on preview, is there anything linux can't do?

O,k that's just ridiculous. As someone who regularly plays rock-paper-scissors (my friends and I are very non-commital about decisions), I can say that some of those hand motions would never be thrown - they're too hard to form quickly (Dragon? Monkey? Wolf?) and they're not sufficiently distinguishable (my friend regularly tries the "paper-thrown-sideways-could-be-scissors" trick).

I can't make the fire motion with out using my other hand to hold my pinky in place.

What kind of whackass hippy hand jive crap is this? RPS-15? RPS-25?

He makes pretty diagrams though. How'd you come across this one, Robot Johnny? Its cool in its own obsessive way.

I disagree. With a little practice it's easy to quickly form elaborate hand gestures (the Blood sign is a good example).

fenriq: The ubiquitous waxy linked it the other day (the 24th). Not to say that's where Robot Johnny saw it, but the former is the seed of many a web meme.

I prefer Rock, Paper, Scissors, Sucker Punch to the Throat.

Sucker Punch to the Throat always wins.

Sub-orbital meteor! (from Pete & Pete)

I disagree with the logic on a lot of these. I've seen many trees' roots crack rocks open.

I've been looking for websites that cover 划拳 Hua2quan2, the myriad types of Chinese "guessing-fingers" games. I only remember Xishuashua to any level of competence, but there must be a couple hundred more.

Anyone know of any websites that cover these things?

Wikipedia has a surprisingly in-depth article on RPS, noting its Chinese origins, and a link to a page with history and a bunch of variations.
