Not terribly surprising, Microsoft had bought advertising from many Linux and Open-Source oriented places, including Linux Journal (print), Slashdot.org, and UserFriendly.org.

Still, it's one thing to just advertise on sites like slashdot and whatnot, but to purchase a whole sidebar bashing Linux is a bit extreme. I wonder how much they paid for it.
