Piracy hits European newspapers
April 2, 2006 4:19 AM Subscribe
Todays newspapers on the torrent network Major european newspapers are daily avaiable as downloadable torrents. You’ll find todays copies in full lenght of the Spanish El Pais, the Italian Liberazione, Deutche Welle and many more. These files are not scannings from print copies, it seems to be pre-press files. Maybe they are made avaiable for online subscribers or advertisers - anyway some are doing the effort to seed the newspapers everyday.
This post was deleted for the following reason: self-link
and the blog has no entries for 04/02... did they pull the story?

First link works fine from here now.
BTW: Cody wrote me:
"You got the link wrong for Bit Torrent. The text of the link says “Bittorrent.com” but the URL in the link only has one R, “Bittorent.com”. Bittorent.com is a scam site trying to get money out of people for Bit Torrent.
The correct URL is http://www.bittorrent.com/"
Sorry this is my first posting at Metafilter, I don't know how to edit a posted story.

Please read the posting guidelines Hans - self links are very frowned upon here.

It's advertising. As much as poster links to self blog, the newspaper are more then happy to increase their readership. Plus these PDF can't be well-printed so..... don't believe the overhypeing of piracy

hanslicht - you should use gif format for images that are solid color shapes without gradients.

While I suspect this threat won't last, I will point out that the newspaper Ms. docgonzo toils for freely distributes PDFs of the day's editions. However, it is a tabloid giveaway and not sold at newsstands.
