You know, I have no idea.
Every cat I've ever had just detested it, except for one.
He was a Maine Coon, maybe that had something to do with it. He also had no problem with going out in rain/34 deg. temps.

What a beautiful cat. In the first few pics, it looked so sweet and cooperative, but in this pic, it looks like a cartoon. I found this sequence amusing, thanks.

i thought that was awesome, beautiful and amazing.
i've never viewed photos as a slideshow and then seen all the photos in the photoset and then, yes, wanted to start again at the beginning. at least, not before tonight.
different people will have different preferences about whether photos of cats taking baths are interesting. different people will find aesthetic value in photos that other people don't think are that great. i happen to like them, but what's more important is the flickr of genius.
some folks may not have experienced the flickr of genius, but it exists. remember buying records or tapes or whatever and listenign to them while poring over the liner notes? nowadays you kill time by looking up bands you think you might like and download the records that were rated best if the description seems promising. instead of reading the liner notes, you look up reviews or the band website while you listen to the record.
the other day i was basically doing this with a newish band called the hold steady and ran into a link to photos tagged "the hold steady" in flickr. it was pretty good, a lot of photos taken by fans at shows, so it made a great impromptu music video, and flickr has somehow changed the way i listen to music (sometimes).
anyhow, milk cat made a great video for e.m.p.t.y. by clientele.
and it was hottt!

it is possible to give a cat a bath without her getting violent on you ... it helps if
1) you let the cat out every 15 seconds or so to run to the closed bathroom door ... by the time you put her back in, she's ready to take some more
2) the cat is very concerned about the large glob of toothpaste your toddler put all over her back and knows that she doesn't want to lick it off ... and she doesn't want it to stay there ... and that although the water may be unpleasant, it's not as bad as having aquafresh scented fur for the rest of her life
your cat, of course, may try to murder you ... but again, your cat may not be dumb enough to sit still for a rugrat armed with a tube of toothpaste

Apparently cats have manga eyes in Asia.
Btw cats I had to bath totally imploded: their fur flattenend they looked extremely skinny. Entirely not their endearing fluffy selves.

Bathing cats requires sedatives. We had a Maine Coon, too, and he would put up with it to a point until he got to be 20 pounds. Then, it was a struggle.

Those eyes look Photoshopped, frankly.
They look it, don't they? But scottish folds (which is what "Milk" apparently is) are known for their large, expressive eyes.

Actually reminds me more of that dog-like thing in the Neverending Story. Normally I don't go much for the 'aww, cat on the Internet' crap - being a dog person, myself - but this was sweet. They lend themselves to great captions (especially this baby he looks like he's saying, "does this qualify as Chinese water torture?"). Anyway, great photoset as a slideshow.

I've never tried bathing a cat, but I do have to get fur mats off my cat with clippers every once in a while. He's an 18 lbs. Maine Coon mix, and he has his claws.
We found a muzzle/mask thingy at he pet store. It wraps around his face and velcros in back, leaving a small opening to see and breathe. I guess it has a horse blinders type effect and really calms the cat down. I still have to gently restrain him to go at it with the clippers, but he doesn't struggle nearly as much, or as aggressively. Cat folks here should check it out, if you have some maintainance to do on an uncooperative cat.

Best cat-bathing device ever invented is a nylon mesh bag with a cinch at the top. Open bag, insert cat, tail-first (that's the hardest part), cinch shut around cat's neck. Do not strangle cat in the process. Cat will be able to wriggle around, but will be unable to get legs free, so bathing is simple, except for the soul-rending meows of terror and despair. For added fun, fill tub first, then toss cat in! Cats sink! Retrieve quickly.

Our cat, Mister Gato, has suffered from eosinophilic granuloma complex (which it sort of looks like is what Milk might have - IANAV, but the sores under the legs, in what would be the "armpit" area if cats had armpits, are typical--they're visible in a couple of shots.)
We've been lucky in that we have been able to sponge the affected areas with a topical solution and done all right with that, but bathing is necessary sometimes too.
Milk (and his owners) have our sympathies. Hope he's feeling better soon. Amazingly great pictures.

The easiest way I've found for washing cats is to strip down (or minimal clothing - shorts, etc.) and get in the shower with it . I've done it in showers with curtains and doors; cats don't seem to know the difference. This works best with a partner - have him/her waiting with a towel.

I've found the best way to wash cats is to trap them in the garage with a garden hose and fling soapy water at them from afar, but every time I do it my girlfriend calls me a monster.
