Os Mutantes have reunited and will be playing the Pitchfork Media Festival this summer. Archival footage of the band discussed here.
Ooh! Ooh! I get it! Let me try one!
The Asylum Street Spankers are having a re-assembly tour and will be playing the Tractor Tavern at the end of the month. The band discussed here.
Did I do it right?

A Gilberto Gil video and a Shell commercial featuring the band. And, what the hell, here are two more.

Shit, that is awesome. I was born far too late to have seen Os Mutantes back in the day. I hope they still have it together, as I am going to try to make a trip to Chicago for this one.

I read in Mojo that Rita Lee is not participating in this reunion, so my level of enthusiasm is a bit on the low side. It's as if Television reunited without Richard Lloyd. Good, but missing a crucial piece.

technically, i suppose it's still a reunion, as they did carry on without her for awhile, but ...
no rita lee pretty much spoils it for me

No Rita Lee? Dang, my enthusiasm has just slightly waned.
Also on their schedule:
London - May 22. As as part of the tropicalia festival at the Barbican--which I hope is better than the tropicália exhibit at the MCA in Chicago from last fall. Tropicália visual art is about one-tenth as interesting as the music. But the music for this one, wow! Tom Zé, Nação Zumbi, Gal Costa, Gilberto Gil, Jorge Ben Jor--I wish I could go to London.
New York - July 21
Los Angeles - July 23 with the Flaming Lips and Thievery Corporation

Yeah. It'd be even more awesome with Rita Lee, but still... Also, I wish Nacao Zumbi would be there like in London. Whatever. I'm still not missing it for anything.

let's hope they decide to revisit the material on the first 3 or 4 albums as some of the mid-late '70s stuff tends to fall on the cheezier side of bombastic synth/glam/disco hell...
other than that i fucking loooove this band with all my heart.
