If something does develop, Ellis does not believe it would necessarily involve neo-Nazi, white- supremacist types. Rather it could be "anarchists and anti-globalists" who are tied into the counterculture and relish "the chance to stick their thumb in the eye of the establishment," he said.
Yeah! Don't go blaming those neo-nazis for stuff that hasn't happend yet! It's always the anti-globalists who are responsible for future terrorism! Better lock 'em up now, just to be safe!
No, seriously, what kind of crazy talk is that?

Eh? The police? Why? That is - they don't have to believe it at all, they just need to think someone out there does. The stupider that person is, the more dangerous, right? So unless you really believe there are no crazy stupid people out there who think 6/6/06 has significance, why is it so shocking that the police should think the day has significance? I'd be more shocked if they didn't - that's their job.

The Beast will be released Worldwide (June 6, 2006)
The Beast is the title of a new movie
that is being boldly marketed as
"an epic story of innocence lost, faith in crisis,
and the astonishing power of the truth to survive."
The basic premise of the movie is that Jesus Christ never existed, that His life as recorded in the Gospels is a fictional account based on pre-existent pagan mythological themes, and that traditional Christianity itself is the great and terrible Beast that has deceived and oppressed humanity from its very inception.

We are currently in a period of eleven years all of which have a day with the last two digits of the year repeated three times in mm/dd/yy form (or dd/mm/yy or yy/mm/dd). So May 5, 2005 was 05/05/05; June 6, 2006 will be 06/06/06; July 7, 2007 will be 07/07/07, etc. So what's going to happen on December 12, 2012?
Actually, a more significant date is December 21, 2012, as this is the end of the Mayan calendar. This will mark the end of the Piscean Age of secular materialism, and the true beginning of the Age of Aquarius, which will last for one thousand years. It is also prophesied in Revelation chapter 20 verses 1-3.
-December 21, 2012 is 6 years, 6 months, 15 days from June 6, 2006, or 6/6/6 (or 2390 days)
-December 21, 2012 is 7 years from December 21, 2005 (or 2557 days). Are we now in the Seven Year Tribulation Period?
-December 21, 2012 is 11 years, 3 months, 10 days from September 11, 2001 (or 4119 days)

Revelation 13:11-18 (NASB) Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb and he spoke as a dragon. He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. And he makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down out of heaven to the earth in the presence of men. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs which it was given him to perform in the presence of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound of the sword and has come to life. And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed. And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.

I don't know. I'm sort of hoping things might happen on that date. After all, if the stuff in Revelation does happen, then it's the sign of the end times, which is a Good Thing (tm) in terms of the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven and all that.
But being a quasi-universalist, I'm probably biased. Since everyone's going to heaven and all. I don't believe for a second that the stuff in Revelation is likaly to happen - it's an allegory and heavily metaphorical and prophecy never happens in a literal fashion. But even if it does, it's not a bad thing, because God is in charge and everything turns out well in the end.
