1617 + 109 + 456 + 620 = 2802 scans (so far). This is an incredible number of bondage-related comic book covers! What's the relation? Is the captivity/subjectivity theme popular (subconsciously or consciously) among comic fans? Or is it something else, for more people?

Captivity is a plot device that allows continuing characters to live for another issue.

brain_drain: I bet you didn't know that The Producers was in DC continuity!

yeah, oddly enough, comics had a lot of stereotyping during WWII, delmoi.

Some of these covers seem kind of liek cheating. From these scans, it looks like, "1984" was a magazine wholly devoted to titillating comics. It's like having a collection of SF-themed magazine covers and including a bunch of Analogs.

Not real sure about this one, unless that girl in the front seat of the boat is tied up...

I think it might be Superman breaking his chains in the upper left corner, but I was wondering too.

Wow. Commie cowboys. I also like the addition of the Stetson-wearing camera crew in front of the tied up lady.

From hattifattener's link, what may be the greatest ever tag line:

"The slimy, crawly, slithering gropies do terrible things to pretty little girls!"

Great stuff. Haven't had any luck hoovering the images for offline browsing.

I'm sorry, being "trapped in a bubble" doesn't count as bondage. The rest kicks ass, though.

Mmmmm. Aunt May tied up & gagged. Mmmmmm.

Why don't you drop by the dungeon sometime? Mistress would like to change your mind.

JHarris: Actually he was right. The magazine was originally titled 1984, but then they changed their name to 1994 when the 1980s actually began. Anyway, I don't think it's really a gotcha, the point of the site isn't bondage in innocent comics (i.e. commentary), it's bondage in any comics (i.e. fetish).
