I saw that Johanna Fateman had done a mix and I thought "hey, neat!"
Then I heard it. God damn that is bad.

One of my favorite trance records of all time is this one:
Silent Harmony - Save the Whales (windows media sample).
Listening now, though, it's absurdly cheesy. I still like it, though.

If we kill all the whales would it end those awful sounds?

Someone ought to broadcast these sounds at ridiculously high power levels into the ocean to see if the submarines will beach themselves.

The Whale version of PitchforkMedia said this sucked... "the worst human remix since Moby."

I used to be into "nature sounds" tapes. I had a few -- my favorite was "Jungle Walk", but I also had one called "Ocean Storm", which was spiced with whalesong. Great for getting to sleep, but I always dreamed I was in Star Trek IV.
