NewsFilter: Another Day In America. These two stories are nothing notable by themselves, but [more inside]
This post was deleted for the following reason: I don't think two boring news stories add up to anything interesting, nor say anything about America
Moral Decay? When you have a population of 300 million these sort of things are bound to creep out of the woodwork.

Everything was better in the good old days. Just ask Hesiod.

In the first story, one sees the moral decay of our society personified in a woman who has taken more than one person should have to endure (gang-raped at 17, in an abusive marriage at 19) and, after a second, 20-year marriage to an apparently stable but unexciting lawyer, ends up seeking to subject others to more than *they* should have to endure: She divorces dull lawyer, is engaged to a new guy, having an affair with a different married guy (her personal trainer), and contracts to kill personal trainer's wife off. Soap opera stuff- poor little rich girl.
In the midst of the moral decay where this story is not all that surprising, at least there is hope in future generations, right? Well maybe not; the second link is to a story about a survival camp where kids learn about tribal warfare and are trained in such skills an combat and weapons. They are set up in tribes and attack each other with paint balloons and tennis-ball-tipped arrows, apparenty in anticipation of America becoming the next Iraq.
