EscarGO!

Katatsumuri (Escargone) (mirror here, in case you don't want to sit through a commercial), a Super Mario-ish Flash game from Japan, except instead of an Italian plumber, you are a snail. With a mustache. From the fine folks at SKT. Left click to jump, left click and hold to climb walls, reach the end-of-level ring before the time runs out. Watch the animation before each level to see what new obstacles and enemies are in store.

If I had to guess at the point of this game, I'd say you have to collect shells so that the gigolo can trade them in for more booze and golf clubs, but if anyone who reads Japanese can clarify a little, that'd be cool.

Previous snail games.

This would be cooler if I wasn't forced to move forward all the time.

Jumping at will is a good feature, though (that one's for you, Fourmyle).

Okay, I take that back. In later stages the constant motion becomes part of the game (there are these little "reversal" arrow blocks you have to avoid). So my advice is: Play to at least level 4.

Starting at around level 16, there are also blocks that allow you to stop moving altogether by holding down the mouse button. And there are spike traps and falling spiky boulders just like in Mario. It does keep getting harder as you go.

What I like best is the japanese voice that tells you to escar ... GO at the beginning of the stage
