The David Kelly Conspiracy

New questions over the death of David Kelly. Previously, on MeFi...[1][2][3][4]. It's a theory, that wants to explain the death of a Weapons Inspector who was involved in little problem concerning Weapons of Mass Destruction. And of course, one cannot link to the Daily Mail without a fondness for the daily-mail-o-matic.
This is interesting, but I wonder if you do a disservice to your post by including the "daily-mail-o-matic" link? Why present an apparently serious theory alongside a clown nose and dribble glass?

In that case you'll probably find The Scotsman's story a little more palatable.

I'd just arrived in Sunderland on the afternoon this happened and the body was found. I'd been travelling for some 6-7 hours and was in no fit state for the night's impending alcohol.
I spent the night drunk and saying the things we normally don't and, by the end of the night, had convinced most everyone else that the government had conveniently removed the most dangerous governmental splinter of the last 20 years.
I know it was paranoia, and loathing of those in power and exhaustion and mania, but bits of me are still convinced the people in power "helped" Dr. Kelly at the end.
Not necessarily those people in power that we hear about.

Don't read the Daily Hate. Mailwatch shows the horrible reality much better than the daily-mail-o-matic, which makes it seem much more harmless and foolish than it really is.
I don't think that David Kelly was murdered, on the grounds that there has been an inquest and a major inquiry and I don't think any government can keep big secrets that well. More to the point, cui bono? I can't see why anyone would want to kill someone who had leaked all he was going to leak, and was a fairly lowly operative in the system. If Ponting and others are still walking around, I think we can conclude that MI5 don't have a 'kill anyone who embarrasses the Government' policy.
I have to say I am also beginning to think that Norman Baker is something of a nut. I live in the next-door constituency to him (he is Lewes, I am in Brighton, Pavilion), and while I admired his dogged tenacity and constant questioning of Ministers from afar, proximity and reading about his statements in my local newspaper has rather put me off him.

From the paramedics who attended Kelly's body:
Paramedic Vanessa Hunt told the Observer newspaper on Sunday: "I just think it is incredibly unlikely that he died from the wrist wound we saw."
The pair gave a press conference after renewed media interest was sparked by the article.
Fellow paramedic Dave Bartlett said: "Everyone was surprised at the outcome [of the Hutton Inquiry].
"I would have thought there would have been more blood over the body if someone had bled to death."
He added that the pair's observations of the scene "were inconsistent with the conclusion of the Hutton Inquiry".

"Incredibly unlikely" != impossible
Didn't die from the wrist wound != was murdered by sinister Government forces.

Two countries divided by a single language.
"Incredibly unlikely" (British English) = impossible (US)
with the US impossible being perhaps the more likely of the two to actually happen (why else would we have the phrase "absolutely impossible"?)

The Truth is that our criminally incompetent government made a scapegoat of Dr Kelly after he broke the rules and exposed their lies. They spared no thought for him, and he killed himself.
Whenever I hear a conspiracy like this, I wonder; if this was true, would anything change? The public already know that they were told bare-faced lies. Who needs a conspiracy when the real crimes are staring you in the face? Smoke and fucking mirrors.

Dr Kelly's body was found shortly after he was named as the source for a BBC report which claimed Downing Street 'sexed up' the official dossier on Saddam Hussein's chemical and biological arsenal.
His death would have been ruled a suicide if he shot himself in the back 9 times with a bolt action rifle.

On what basis do you make this assertion? David Kelly had an extremely high security clearance, he may have known very much indeed, and been willing to speak about it. Of course, I have no knowledge of the actual circumstances surrounding his death, other than what one can read on teh internets, but I certainly wouldn't put anything past BushBlairCo in the killing and lying department.
They didn't just say that there was a high probability that Saddam had WMD, they said it was an absolutely indisputible fact. "We know where they are." After the invasion and occupation of Iraq they pretended that this was due to "intelligence failures" - and yet many within the intelligence community, most notably Dr. Kelly, were trying to tell us *before* the invasion, that the evidence was being manufactured. That's not an intelligence failure, it's premeditated mass-murder. So, on the face of it, they've already done far worse than murdering a whistleblower and covering it up - that's chump change for these guys.
