Gir, it's time for PANCAKES! youtube
Look, as much as I liked this, it isn't dislodging that "Chicken Noodle Soup with a Soda on the Side" thing. And believe me, I don't think I can go another day with that song stuck in my head.

I like this because the sounds and the images are so tightly wound together. Especially the eggbeater solo in the middle: makes it seem like the song was arranged from the cam audio instead of the video being made for the song.

Unsettling. Shallow. Amateur.
For one thing, pancakes come in stacks. In between comes the ton of butter so conspicuously missing in the video. On top of a stack of cakes, goes a sunny side up egg, to make a one eyed stack. Over the top of that, goes maple syrup. Beside the stack, on at least 3 sides, and preferably 4 to 6 sides, goes crispy fried cased pork sausage links.
The only thing the doofus in the video was doing was making a mess in the kitchen. Nutella? Lemon & Sugar? One at a time?
Crimes against humanity, maybe. Certainly nothing to do with pancakes.

paulsc is correct, but only to a point. Pancakes are different everywhere. Just because they are Best in America, doesn't mean a nice sweet crepe isn't good! Or a Dutch pancake, with ham and cheese (kind of inbetween American and French style). These days, I make mine with yeast, Belgian style, but thick, American style. They are nearly perfect.

paulsc, to me, pancakes look just like the ones in the video, you serve them one at a time so they're always hot to eat, and you cover them in sugar and lemon, just like that guy. I call them pancakes because my family, my friends, and most of this country call them pancakes. What you describe are "American Style Pancakes", which come in a packet with a little flag on them and have the texture of overcooked beef.

As for me killing metafilter, isn't that what you said about Miguel? After a while, you've gotta let a place be what it is; if you wanted a site that was run by you, with only people you approve of posting only things you approve of, I think there's a link to one on your user page.
P.S., I know you're only teasing because you have a crush on me. From now on, I will call you crushland, in reference to this fact.

Crêpes and pancakes may look similar, depending on how they're cooked. I like really thin ones with apricot jam and butter, mmmm. Or with Nutella. That stuff is addicting!
