The only nice thing I can find to say about the movie Midway is it provided Mr. Ford, among other people, a paycheck.
Yeah... great cast, lousy movie.

Um ... is the reference maybe actually to Cliff Robertson?

I thought it was a reference to The Neverending Story.

this may sound corny, but his death scene in Superman (y'know, when he walks up to the house, grabs his left arm and says, rather matter-of-factly, "oh no") has always stuck with me... now everytime I have a pain in my left arm, I'm convinced I'm having a heartattack...

IMDB lists his real name as: Gwyllyn Samuel Newton Ford.
I'm having happy flashbacks to "Cade's County" with Edgar Buchanan.

I show Blackboard Jungle to a few of my Teacher Ed classes. It is the prototypical "teacher movie".
This makes me quite sad.

Another link to Superman was that he played alongside the young Christopher Reeve in Once an Eagle, which I loved.

I actually caught "Gilda" the other night on TMC. I'd never seen it, and figured I would watch about 5 minutes and go to bed. I stayed up way past my bed time, and boy was it worth it.

The Times called Fate Is The Hunter a 'stupid' movie. Maybe it was, but I was a kid when I saw it and I liked it. STFU NYT!
