Bowmaster - Friday flash fun. Shoot arrows (including ice, fire, and bomb types) at monsters. Protect your people's houses. Earn experience points to upgrade your weaponry.

For somewhat less focused violence (plus an incongruously chipper techno/harmonica soundtrack), try Gunmaster 2, by the same designer.

call me a whippersnapper, but it's like playing monopoly what with the upgrades. maybe I'm just not very good at earning the xp. aside from all that noise, I thought it was fun. thanks!

Heh. What is it with MeFi and base-defense games? First it was that stick-person-flinging castle game, then the house with all the guns, and now this.

Not that I didn't enjoy it. This one, unlike the other two, doesn't have the problem of eventually becoming automated when your snipers are elite enough to do it all for you.

Damn you. Just when I'd gotten sick of these stupid distractions and begun doing useful activities. Now I'll never get anything done!

House with all the guns? What house with all the guns? When was there a house with all the guns?

Jesus christ.

I can't believe I just played that game as long as I did.

god, way too much time I spent playing that. I think level 24 was the one where I finally closed the browser and vowed never to return.

Did you notice that the ice arrows will extinguish fires? It's for when they try to burninate your thatched-roof cottages.

Was it just me or did it sound as if you were facing off against an army of armoured Homer Simpsons?

Haha, yes. I'm also trying to figure out what the ogres said when you hit them but didn't kill them. "Stop it?" "Stupid?" "Dew Pit?" The mystery rages on.

Gets boring after a few second, I prefer the simple "bowman" game.

Loads of fun, though I bet it would be much easier with a mouse and not a touchpad.

When you use special arrows - fire, ice, oil, etc - you don't get xp. I could deal with that if they hadn't capped the # of normal arrows at 3. This game has the opposite of the normal xp mechanism. In harder levels you have to rely on archers/catapult/special weapons more, meaning you get less xp. The ability to go back to previous stages gives you an opportunity to gain xp, but I'm not going to grind for lvls in a goddamn flash game.

The three main arrows are more than enough for most levels (minus flak for those stupid flying guys). Have you been uping the "Arrow Damage" stat?

I quit at about level 44. There went my plans for the day :P

I liked the way that the google ads were right there on the left, so that a careless click could, say, take me from the game I had been playing for 45 minutes to a website I didn't want to visit. Wheeeee!

Still, plenty of fun!

Level 26 blew my mind... after about an hour of obeying the game's internal laws of physics: POOF! No gravity! wtf
