Stick magnetic ribbons on your SUV. A downloadable ditty from the Asylum Street Spankers. "The Spankers preemptively state that current and former members of our band are veterans of the military, we support American troops and we love our country, especially its Constitution and Bill of Rights, but also its movies, music, whiskey and regional cuisine." (YouTubeFilter, IraqFilter, language NSFW, ouch!)
hm. this must be an american thing. what do the ribbons do?

They're for awareness of various causes. Here's one site that explains what the various colors are for.

What do the ribbons do? Use up EXTRA natural resources where paper would've done the job just as easily because fuckwit SUV drivers don't like to fuckup their paint jobs. I mean honestly, if they really gave a shit, why don't they just put a damn sticker on?

I heard that every time a Spanker takes a particularly nasty dump, the reconstituted pulp manifests itself into human form and joins The Capital Steps. True?

Pop quiz: Which of these answers to the question "what do the ribbons do?" would actually help a person not familiar with them understand what they do?

The Spankers are an amazing band. Their new kids' CD (heavily advertised on their website, last link in the FPP) is really quite something. "How the hell," I thought, "can those guys do a kids' CD that's at all true to their nature?"
They managed it somehow. Also that CD contains a tongue-twister involving the phrase "pheasant mother plucker", which is my new favorite phrase.
The Spankers' Re-Assembly DVD is joy personified.

what do the ribbons do?
They generate revenue for a nearly failed business venture outsourced to China.
This time the bullet cold rocked ya
A yellow ribbon instead of a swastika
Nothin' proper about ya propaganda

I'm glad this is on the blue getting the attention it deserves. I loves me some satire.

Optionally, as you are sticking your stickers, you can sing
"Stick magnetic ribbons on your SUV"
to the old World-War-1 tune "Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag".
(I'm sorry ... it just popped in there. But then, I'm a 9-percenter.)
