So this essentially uses the Google API to display art work rather than maps?

Pretty neat concept. An excellent use of the intuitive hand grab scrolling and dragging present in the Google API. Though I think the loading blocks of gray detract from the visual experience.

But this certainly presents an alternative to UA scroll bars or Flash.

Also, Illuminated Manuscripts, my kind of art.

But a floating div (z-index: -10, for argument's sake) with a link to an artist's statement / biography / or explanation-of-what-the-fuck-is-going-on, would be nice.

I see a table covered with some rather attractive examples of book design. Upper left: man and woman and motorcycle with sidecar. Lower right: Volksboutique. No active controls except the ability to push everything around like a Google map. Anything else? Am I missing anything?

it is cool that it just keeps going and going but why isn't it clickable?
