The Art of Demotivation For the better part of a decade, Despair, Inc. has been engaged in a fierce battle in the marketplace of ideas with the multi-billion dollar motivation industry. With the introduction of Despair Video podcasts, the company opens a new front in the war on motivation- while simultaneously offering a tantalizing glimpse at life inside the company itself.

No me, and I could not find a prior post.

How about this one? (for starters)

If anyone has that silly "it was a mouse! A mouse was wearing a top hat and yelling into a microphone" demotivator, could ya post it for me? Thanks.

Well, I suppose the videos are (possibly) new to mefi, at least as a post.

Funny, I just deleted this podcast subscription in iTunes... since there had not been anything new since January.

The latest one sucks. It's just a shill for the DVD.

Failure: When your best FPP just isn't good original enough.

is there something you'd like to say about this post?

I'm suspicious of ulterior motives in posts like this. But then, I am a bit paranoid.

mattoxic... gonna have to agree with others on this. It is a double. Ignore the good-natured (or not so good natured) snarkiness, and try another post later.

Don't despair. HAHAAAAA!!!! I KILL ME!!!!

or not so good natured

Hey now.

It's all in good fun.

Oh, was this your first FPP? Sorry to be so (good-naturedly) snarky.

Remember, if at first you don't succeed, failure may be more your style!

Clearly, if there's anything some MeFites don't need, it's any further inspiration in the arts of demotivating others.

Despair is hilarious. But the reason it's not worth posting is in your first sentence: For the better part of a decade. C'mon, we want mindless novelty rather than stuff that's stood the test of time and is still funny.

If at first you don't succeed, maybe skydiving isn't for you.

Actually, I hadn't seen The Chairman Edition or read excerpts from The Art of Demotivation yet, so it was worth a FPP for me. I never realized that the critique represented by demotivators was so . . . complex.

No post on motivational posters is complete without a mention of the Seven Deadly Motivational Posters (another oldie but goodie)
