My future's bleak
Ain't it neat?
Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee: we miss you, bros. Simply one of the greatest rock and roll bands ever.

Thanks for the post; it's been decades since I've rocked the It's Alive double LP and this looks like it will scratch that itch.
My favorite song from the bruddas has always been "Loudmouth" from the first LP. Pure American poetry.
You're a loudmouth baby
You better shut up
I'm gonna beat you up
'Cause you're a loudmouth babe

Great post.
I saw the Ramones once. At the godawful Vogue in Indy. But, sweet-jeebus, what a show! It was like someone fired-up a buzzsaw and didn't stop til the hour was up. Hard, loud and fuckingfast.

their album produced by the now-infamous Phil Spector
Phil Spector has been infamous for a long, long time. It's just only recently that he's become CourtTV-infamous.
Nice find.

Great quality... nice energy in these recordings. I saw the Ramones a couple of times at my sister's college in the Bronx when I was a kid in the 80s. I don't remember Joey doing any in-between song banter at either of those shows. This is a real treat.

Ha! I bought this years ago on tape at the old Bleeker Bob's record store in NYC. Still sounds great today.

There's nothing Canadian about that link.
Gobble Gobble Hey! was a CD by a Toronto band called Slutarted. Cover is NSFW.

They're no King Crimson, but they're okay, I guess.

I mean, it's not like they're going to bust out and start improvising or something.
That was kind of the whole point of the Ramones, dude. :)

I remember a Ramones article in Spin sometime in the 1980s where Joey recalls recording End of the Centurywith Phil Spector.
According to Joey, Phil would get trashed on Manishevitz wine during the recording sessions and stomp around saying guttural nonsense like "Piss! Shit! Fuck! Fuck this shit!"
If the Ramones attempted to leave at this point, Phil would just brandish his revolver to quell the dissent.

How weird is it that the DRUMMERS are the only Ramones still living?
I saw them in Dallas, with Marky on drums.
