Jon Lovitz may have just killed his career. SLTMZP
This post was deleted for the following reason: no good. -- jessamyn
That's a hard thing to do considering I didn't even know he was still alive...

Nah. He said AIDS wasn't doing a very good job of killing black people (as supposedly designed by the government) because it was killing everyone. Not a very funny joke, but hard to take as racist or anti-AIDS victim.

TMZ is trying to give this some traction it probably won't get.

now that I've watched the video I have to say: "what?" given how shaky and unrehearsed he seemed I doubt he's interested in much of a career anymore, and his comments seemed more ignorant and top-of-the-head than indicative of bigotry.

TMZ is the same highly respected journalistic organization that recently revealed the identity of a 14-year-old alleged sex crime victim, because he's the son of somebody famous. ((They even included a picture, taken when the boy was 10) Let's see if we can keep links to these slimeballs OFF of Metafilter. Delete this shitty post.

Oh no! And he was climbing back up after his just so goddamn amazing performance in the wildly popular Southland Tales! THE POOR MAN!

I'll not disagree that this was a terrible post, but you leave Southland Tales alone now. Cruelly overlooked at the Oscars, that one.

Man, everyone hated that flick. You should have heard Jonny Ross' review of it.
It scooped The Independent's Worst Film of 2007 award – against stiff competition, too.

How's this for a controversial statement: TMZ is one of the reasons I could care less if the terrorists win or not.
I'd say it's grammatically sloppy. You probably mean "couldn't care less".
Thanks for asking!
