Endangered Species, Wildlife Conservation, Animal Habitats

For more than 45 years, the World Wildlife Fund has been protecting the future of nature through its mission of conservation. Using the best available scientific knowledge and advancing that knowledge, they work to preserve the diversity and abundance of life on Earth and the health of ecological systems.

Conserving the Amazon through local and national action in priority landscapes and aquatic systems; region-wide efforts in planning, leadership and coordination; and global influence of market forces.

The unspeakable human tragedy resulting from the massive earthquake in China and the major reconstruction efforts ahead have been very much in the news lately. This is a critical region for WWF because of their work to protect giant pandas and panda habitat. The pandas have been relocated!

Join WWF experts as they share their on-the-ground experiences in the places they're striving to save.

The tiger, largest of all cats, is one of the most charismatic and evocative species on Earth; it is also one of the most threatened. Less than 4,000 remain in the wild.

Every day, a new story emerges about a species, habitat or a community impacted by climate change. Climate change is the number one environmental issue of the 21st century.

Through an exhaustive study that involved a team of leading scientists, biologists and policy experts, WWF determined that the most effective way to make a lasting difference in preserving the delicate diversity of nature is to identify those places that are of greatest significance. They further refined their focus on 19 places that are of the highest priority, based on the wealth and diversity of life they support, the destructive challenges they face, and the ability to impact them within the next decade.

There is plenty, plenty more about what the World Wildlife Fund does.

This post was deleted for the following reason: This pretty much reads like a WWF press release. Why is this a post? -- cortex

Call your accountant, Matt. I'm pretty sure you can deduct the cost of the memory to store and serve this page as a public service to a charitable organization.

They're not the only organization doing these things. And this reads like one of those letters they send me asking for a donation. That's fine for a letter, but not so much here.

Is this a real post? All the text is just cut-and-pasted from the various WWF pages. That's why it sounds like shilling.

Once they went for Vince McMahon, all bets were off.
