The longest last time

The longest last time Sandy said goodbye to Finlee by placing the lid on the coffin and blowing out a candle. The room was full of parents and their children. We watched her lean in to embrace her daughter for the longest last time and the room wept.
Moving thoughts on the death of a child.

I am so not reading this, because there's enough sadness in my everyday life at the moment, but... how does someone lean in to embrace a daughter after placing the lid on the coffin?

I don't know why this is here - it's really quite a poor FPP - but for some reason and as a parent, I can empathise with why the poster felt compelled to punctuate the blue with it. I wish 'death' and 'children' could never be mentioned in the same sentence, but sadly it is.
