The Fun Theory

Can we get more people to take the stairs over the escalator by making it fun to do? It's an ad series from Volkswagen, but visually fun and thought-provoking. Why can't the world be more delightful and useful at the same time?

Well, we don't all agree on what's "delightful" (or "useful"), first off. Second, a lot of these seem like novelty effects --- I don't think these would actually be fun after the first couple times (if at all), so would it have any real effect on behavior (long-term)?

What's delightful about listening to every key on a piano being hit at once? No, thanks. I pity anyone who has to walk past that every day.
