My Love-Hate Relationship with Charles Dickens

I love Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol. I got an award in middle school for an essay I wrote about A Tale of Two Cities, but I'm reading it now and I don't remember reading it before. This makes me suspicious. In college I got an F on a final and I remember it was because I had not read Great Expectations but tried to fake that I had. What was I thinking? That's probably why I have a recurring nightmare that I'm nearing the end of the school term, haven't been to any of my classes, don't know where they are, haven't done any of the assignments, haven't studied for any of the exams, am about to flunk out, and it's too late to withdraw. I also plan to read Great Expectations to see if the nightmares go away. (previously via The Dickens Project and previously via Slate's The Literary Critic's Shelf of Shame)
