Unlike a circle, a sphere can be turned inside out.

It is possible to turn a sphere inside out in 3-space with possible self-intersections but without creating any crease, a process often called sphere eversion (eversion means "to turn inside out"). Or, how a complex mathematical result can be made understandable to a layman. Part 1. Part 2.

I just use my handy Rod of Eversion. (It's also useful for getting the Crocodile's Tear after the mother hungus swallows it.)
