Since they stopped punching each other in the balls. MTV sued.

According to Wikipedia:
Because of their donkey-like braying call they were previously named Jackass Penguins. Since several species of South American penguins produce the same sound, the African species has been renamed African Penguin, as it is the only penguin species that breeds in Africa.

Pittsburgh's zoo had polar bear and tiger cub cams hosted on the website of one of the local news channels, but recently they did a site redesign and it doesn't seem to be there anymore. Thanks for helping me get my cute fix elsewhere!

Yay. I love penguins and I love animal cams. I have been pretending to work today but this will go a long way to helping me drop the pretense.
I spent a few happy hours with a bunch of jackasses at the Boulders Beach penguin colony - they are such cute characters!

Alynnk, the Pittsburgh Aviary just released their penguin cam in the past week or so. If you've never been over there, I highly recommend it over the zoo's penguin exhibit - far less crowded with people, you get to know their names (Sydney! Patrick! Stanley!) and there is at least one daily feeding with a handler who does a nice presentation.

That Tennessee Aquarium camera features some fighty-bitey penguins, in case you or any of your friends want to do some betting!

I still can't get used to the idea that penguins aren't human sized.
Depends on the penguin and the human, doublehappy - Emperors get up to about 4ft tall.

Well, this will be fun when the Mrs gets home tonight:
Mrs Agogo: Did you go shopping today?
Slack-a-gogo: No.
Mrs Agogo: Did you make it to the bank?
Slack-a-gogo: Ummm....no.
Mrs Agogo: Busy day at work?
Slack-a-gogo: Not really, no.
Mrs Agogo: What DID you do all day?!?
Slack-a-gogo: Did you know that after a few hours of watching you can actually figure out which penguin is going to jump in the water next?
Mrs Agogo: You watched penguins on the internet all day?!?!?!
Slack-a-gogo: No...no...of course not. I also watched a beaver and some otters.
SOUND EFFECT: Frying pan clang

I'm surprised they burn up all that bandwidth for color video of penguins. You'd think B&W would be more than sufficient.

This is pretty much my favorite thing ever.
My love of penguins is so great that the Christmas tree in my apartment is decorated entirely with penguin ornaments. Every room, including the bathroom, has some kind of penguin-related item in it.
My life goal is to have the opportunity to hug a living, breathing penguin. If any of you have an idea as to how I can accomplish that, I would be even happier.
Great idea for an FPP!

I hate to be the one to tell you DMan, but you'd probably get your face torn to shreds if you tried to hug a penguin - they're not as laid back as they look and have sharp little beaks :)
However, I totally prescribe a trip to the Falkland Islands for you - they're tame enough you can get within a few feet of them without them really caring. I've not hugged one, but have carried one upside down by its feet (as described in this totally self-linking post), which I like to think is funnier, if not as cuddly.
