monkey like jump cuts

If you believe the hype, this is a surfer video edited by a monkey.
I love the three or four "subliminal messages" of a screaming chimp, like this one at 39s.

I'm sorry, I only watch avant-garde ape generated surfstep mixes.

Is this more or less interesting than a monkey video edited by a surfer? How about a monkey surfer edited by a video? A video editor surfed by a monkey?

Apparently that chimpanzee finds surfing boring, and made it EXTREME with hyper-edits.
And brand me a skeptic, but I'd like to see the "making of" video, wherein said chimp is on the computer.
Give mea million two or three chimpanzees and I'll give you the next Warren Miller.

What's interesting is that this isn't all that different from much of what passes for "editing" these days.

Chimps are apes; apes edit video quite a lot these days.
But an ape painting a portrait of cats getting their hair trimmed in a barbershop run by monkeys? That's something.

JT the chimp was given the controls of a Final Cut Pro edit system, and quickly mastered the editing process

Seriously, I took a year-long undergrad class in FCP and only about half of us had any sort of competency with it by the end.
I'm not sure if that speaks to the legitimacy of the chimp video, or the quality of the undergrads.

"Remote server or file not found" on your utterly context-less one-link post. There really is nothing to see here...

crunchland, thanks.
It seems plausible that this video was achieved by handing some sort of editing interface to a monkey - it looks a lot like random tapping on the timeline of a playing video.

I had a cat on my lap when I started playing the video, and I accidentally left the volume all the way up. Now there's a cat trying to kill and eat my netbook.
