So...it's a tumbler rather than a "live" site because they are just flipping the images, I assume. In which case...why not flip the browser too? Makes it look more like looking out from inside the computer.

They're not just flipping images. It's starts there and get's funnier. (and may be marginally NSFW if you work for the Taliban.)

Even understanding the joke (thanks, virtual Monday morning), I still think it would better if the browser were also flipped. I'm looking at the back of the website through the front of my browser?

I was prepared to hate this, what with it appearing to be a single-meme tumbler and all that.

But its creativity and charm won me over. I hope he makes more.

This is a cute idea, I hope to see more of them (in fact, I'm trying to think of one myself)

But really? That's the best they got for Google? A nondescript input on a white page with a goofy logo that leads to nearly all recorded human knowledge and the best they have is to flip the image?

I feel like the back of Google would better look like a Rube Goldberg contraption that piles up links that get through a variety of filters.

Also, the back of Facebook needs some guys in business suits looking at our personal information with magnifying glasses.

I don't think you become left-handed when you stand behind someone.

Is that the conceit here? That I've somehow used my regular browser to view the website from the back? How would that work? How do I "stand behind" a site with my browser, even comico-conceptually?

I think it makes more sense, and is funnier, if the idea is "how does this website look from the inside", which is a little different.

Well, isn't it called "setting up the joke?" At first you are like, "Yes, that is the back of a web page," then you get to the youtube one and you're like "WTF???" and as you scroll down further you go deeper down the rabbit hole.

I didn't see that it was a tumbler site and at first all I saw was the Google site and nothing else. I got really excited thinking I could type in a term and it would send me to a backwards page. I was kind of disappointed when I realized what it really was, but the Facebook page was kind of funny.

You are seriously over-analyzing this. Step away from the joke website.

I too would like it if the browser was a mirror image, as if the back of my monitor dissolved and all was revealed.

> But really? That's the best they got for Google?

It's sort of like an illustration of the arc of creativity - at least, this is the kind of thing that happens to me.

Google is the first, it's the basic idea.

Flickr ups it a notch - the backs of the photos is really cute

Youtube is the peak - elegant, clever, minimal.

(I don't get the Apple one)

Twitter is baroque, gaudy. The flame is still burning bright but you begin to notice some sparks.

Facebook is over-the-top, the beginning of the descent into madness (or mediocrity)

DU's right. Even one note comedy needs to successfully suspend my disbelief.

Also, the Apple one is a takeoff on the way the back of the iPhone/iPad/iPod looks.
