Ok, so, er, embarrassing - the thread I thought I was commenting on just got redboxed and I was mysteriously taken back to this page, whereupon I left that total nonsequitor of a comment. That said, though, I stand by the macarena never making sense and purport that it's an excellent example of how things could be worse. They have been.

I am, in fact suffering from a banjo infestation. Can't play 'em and can't get rid of 'em. They make a great noise when my cats knock them over though.

I'm really not sure how that comment would have been any more appropriate in the Afghan dogfighting thread.

The muted/sepia palette was what first drew me in; for some reason I don't think these would be nearly so effective in black-and-white or full colour.
I shall be checking under my bed for banjos this evening, though.

When I was in Basic Training my mother sent me a newspaper clipping with the photo of a young boy that that a wrought iron fence protruding through his mouth. It had enters through his chin/neck. It was like 3 inch square and and the paramedics had cut a 3 foot section of the fence off, but it was still going through his head. (He'd been climbing it to catch a fly ball.)
My mother had written, "There's worse places you could be" under the photo.

"Lungfish Foreclosure. It has a catchy ring to it." Seeing that so many people are "underwater", that makes total sense.
