See...One day, Momma Tomato, Pappa Tomato and Baby Tomato were walking down the street, and Baby Tomato started lagging behind. Papa Tomato got real mad, squished Baby Tomato, and said...

It is rude not to put at least one sentence of description on the front page link.

I'd rather read pieces like this than "in-depth" articles from the San Jose Mercury on "dot-com casualties in homeless shelters, except actually they're not and we're crap at research", thankyouverymuch. And yesster? Want to come up with something better?

holgate -
The piece was just lame. I'm not a journalist, nor a host of a web page, so it's not my responsibility to come up with something better. As a personal story of the dot-com fiasco, it's worthwhile. But it isn't really worthy of blogging. Besides, there's nothing special about the dot-com angle here. Many waiters/waitresses used to be: lawyers, doctors, social workers, teachers, salesmen, etc.

Apologies for the minimal description for the posting - my bad.
Apologies for my ignorance of the thread that ceiriog posted (dioch yn fawr, ceiriog), and for not realising that MeFi readers were time-poor, task-oriented individuals.
Apologies for finding something minimal and personal quite affecting in a minimally personal way. And apologies for taking up more of your time with this apology.
Love, me.

yah. it was so damn "rude".
i know i was offended.
what an ass!
i know! lets publicly call him on it in MetaTalk and waste hours arguing about whether or it was "in-fact" rude, and then when that gets nowhere (because its so gosh darned futile to argue about stupid shit) lets post a snide message (in bitterness of the unresolved arguement) everytime someone does in fact post less than one sentence.
Rinse. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

I believe that no one should post anything that I don't like to any Web site ever. Furthermore, link text on MetaFilter must now be at least 32 words in length, and contain at least four nouns, one verb, and three adjectives. Adverbs and gerunds will not be permitted.

Jesus. The reason I mentioned the previous MetaTalk thread was precisely so we wouldn't have to retread all that ground again, and this thread wouldn't get cluttered with irrelevant crap. Was that wrong?
(And if it was, please feel free to call me out in MetaTalk. I think that's how this is supposed to work. Irrelevant crap=grey background.)

Re the talk thread -
I haven't seen this volume of pointless typing since I tried to read that Tom Clancy book. I'm impressed by the effort.
LOL dong. Thank heavens for the PgDn and End keys.
