Taksim Trio is a super-group from Istanbul composed of Hüsnü Senlendirici, one of the greatest clarinet players alive, Aytac Dogan on qanun (zither) and Ismail Tuncbilek on saz (long necked lute). More of their music that can be found on Youtube. A glowing Album review & some background. Their Myspace.
This is great.

This is one of those posts where there isn't much to say beyond "Very cool, thanks!"

I can hear Turkish or Moroccan contemporary music just by turning on the radio and looking for radio channels that cater to immigrants to the Netherlands. But somehow those radio channels have always seemed rather inaccessible to me.
So this is a very welcome intro in good Turkish music. Tx.
