The paranoia continues....... Any other local, non-national scare stories?
And this. Also, I just heard on the news that a case of typhoid was found in Palo Alto. Typhoid of course isn't one of the "usual suspects" for biowarfare, but the school where the infected boy attends treated it as if Osama was lurking behind the lunch monitor...

My roommate is a biomedical photographer. She was visiting another photographer at the city morgue today, where they have access to some of the more gruesome artifacts - like extreme close-ups of the people jumping from the buildings, landing, etc. Things not shown to the general public, natch. Anyhoo, the story they have heard was that previously an intern delivered an evelope full of some random sticky junk that no one could identify.

I've received 3 e-mails advising me to stay out of malls on Halloween because some friend of a friend of a friend had an Afghani boyfriend who disappeared on 9/6, leaving her a note telling her not to fly on 9/11 and not to go to any mall on Halloween. Are the media and the FBI deliberately keeping this information from us (presumably under the pernicious influence of OSAMA - "Owners and Supervisors of American Malls Association")?

Snopes lists this rumor as undetermined. But really, does anyone need such an elaborate excuse to stay away from malls? The mere existence of Hot Topics is enough reason for me.

Well then someone needs to put a bit more detail in his post, now doesn't he. :-)
Or perhaps this post belonged under that one? Will we be posting a thread for each and every incident (real or fabricated) that comes out??

Wisconsin Man Tested For Possible Case Of Anthrax
Health officials are investigating whether a Wisconsin man who reported suffering from flu-like symptoms was exposed to anthrax, authorities said. Preliminary medical observations indicated it was unlikely the man had contracted anthrax, but more tests were ordered, FBI special agent Barry Babler said Tuesday (results coming back Thursday). The man told hospital staff he received a piece of mail that contained a white, powdery substance about two weeks ago...
