Translating: PROTIP — the best time to come to São Paulo is Carnaval and New Year. The city is empty, most paulistanos go somewhere else. Still a lot of fun parties though. Traffic actually approaches sanity, these are the only times when I'd recommend renting a car to get around the city. And avoid commercial carnaval, it's a simulacrum.
