A one year old article about evidence of anthrax found in victims of a mysterious disease that has killed 10 Scottish heroin addicts. Does anyone know more about this?
but isn't there a pretty progressive stance on heroin in scotland?
i learned everything i know about scottish heroin addicts from trainspotting. heh.

Interesting. I remember the heroin deaths and the anthrax links. Of course, where does most of the world's heroin come from? Afghanistan.
I'm not sure what your point is, mr_crash_davis. In the light of the threat at the time, it sounded like sensible advice. Advice like "don't take heroin" is hardly likely to be taken any notice of, is it? I forgot. There long ago ceased to be any rationality when American officials talk about drugs.

I do love the line about eight paragraphs in, though.
"Addicts are now being advised to smoke heroin rather than inject it."
