Word As Image, by Ji Lee

Challenge: Create an image out of a word, using only the letters in the word itself.
Rule: use only the graphic elements of the letters without adding outside parts.

Spent the last half-hour clicking through Ji Lee's portfolio. He is exceedingly clever. It gave me much delight.

Ah, growabrain, I don't know how you do it but you have always had a knack for finding the coolest things. And I am glad to see you posting them here more often because I still sorely miss your wonderful blog. This is fun and clever, thanks for posting.

I had to come up with a few of these for an interactive design exercise for class. We weren't allowed to have sound, which I feel is the element that really makes a lot of his. But it's also the tiny details, like the Os bouncing off the ceiling in such a realistic way (in the word balloons).

Wonderful! I think moon and balloons were my favourites. The sound effects worked really well for them--and for tunnel too.
