Secrets of the Cold War in Space. Deep Cold is an website with detailed renderings, quicktime movies and information about the ideas and concepts being developed for both U.S. and Soviet presences in space during the cold war.
The quicktime movies are better than Thunderbirds...perhaps.

It is very coooold, in space!
Seriously, I wish the Soviets had given us a better run for our money.
We might have colonies on Mars by now.
Once the N1 booster (possibly the most idiotic example of brute force engineering ever built) went *KABOOM*, it was all over.
I hope China goes ahead with it's moon program, but their timeline is wildly optimistic.
