Tiny birthday for a tiny hedgehog

Given they make the cake out of hedgehog-friendly ingredients (no sugar, rice flour, etc - full ingredients list in comments) I think it's unlikely the hats are glued on. They seem to have something pink at the base - maybe something slightly sticky that works better on fur than hedgepiggy quills? But leave a comment on the vid, they seem to answer questions!

Now I feel I failed my cat for his first birthday, although I did get him a cat tree and an air conditioner. It now seems so impersonal....

It's like a real, live Birthday Shark! Except cuter! And real. And also no sharks.

Thanks, Athanassiel - perhaps the pink stuff is a bit of icing? Sticky, yet should wash out without too much trouble (or perhaps be licked off by one of the other critters?).
I try to stay out of YouTube comments, but perhaps I'll steel myself enough to read the ones on this vid and see if they talk about the hats anywhere.

I hope they're not gluing them to their heads or anything like that.
The food stylist posted in the YT comments, so it's hopefully not too internet-stalky to link to her tumblr which has an ask section. She was probably there during the filming, so might know how they did that.
(she also has a site that made me hungry.)

The way those hamsters ate was absolutely monstrous. And that hedgehog was like a spined barracuda.

What I want to know is, how do they get the hats to stay on these little guys? The hedgie loses his at one point during the video, but the hamsters' lids stay on, despite some rather enthusiastic nomming. I hope they're not gluing them to their heads or anything like that.
