Yeah that was a pretty good series, I think maybe I like hockey now. Go Hawks!

Seeing the Hawks win the Cup in Chicago (and with the only 2-goal lead in the whole series - I've been on the edge of my seat the whole time) was really something special. And deserving of Malört. I am still recovering from the Malört.

Man, the Bolts played like a bunch of cock-fingered mushheads last night. I blame Victor Hedman.

I guess it's more fair and accurate to say the Blackhawks played really well last night and were really effective in shutting Tampa down and denying them opportunities.

But still, bring me the head of Victor Hedman!

The Cup is in the hands of an Original Six, and Gary Bettman got booed. All is as it should be.

If you ever get to boo him in person, go for it. Don't hold back. I got to do it at the draft in Philly last year and it was legit emotionally fulfilling.

I booed him live in person when the Kings won the cup in '12.

The Bolts had plenty of opportunities last night -- and over the previous two games -- and just couldn't find a way.

Feh.

God I hate Chelsea Dagger.

Lived in Chicago for 14 years. Although I grew up a Rangers fan (and still am) I have a soft spot for the Blackhawks. Going to the old Stadium for games was somthing I will never forget. First time I went, I was wearing a polo shirt and dungarees. My friend who was taking me told me to go change. Into what? A t-shirt and bring a t-shirt in the car. Huh? You will be drenched in beer by the end of the night. We were high up in the Stadium and sure enough about 4 minutes into the first period, the guy behind me jumps up with a full beer in his hand and screams, "Hit him, what do you have glue in your fucking gloves?" while simultaneously dumping the top third of his beer on my back. I did get a "Oops. Sorry" from him for which I am immensely proud. My friend said he never says sorry to anyone.

Back in the day, when Bill Wirtz refused to put the home games on cable or tv, going to games at the old Stadium was quite the experience.

I am old enough to remember Bobby Hull, Esposito, Makita and even when Bobby Orr played for the Blackhawks. Time out from this Gary Bettman love fest to say, "God bless you Stan Makita." and to his family, sorry to hear about his condition and thank you for your candor and bravery around his care.

The Blackhawks are cap cheats and had the most bullshit luck this playoffs. And also their traveling fans are (largely) drunken asshats. Kimmo is cool though.

Funny, the cup win in 2010 occurred the year after I moved out of Chicago and back to Toronto. I'm sure that had nothing to do with it, though.

Chicago is a city for sports songs, generally. "Bear Down, Chicago Bears" is an obvious classic, and I'm very fond of "Let's Go, Go-Go White Sox" as well.

I just left my uneaten lunch at my desk to run downstairs around the back of my office building and get a picture of the Cup. Some people were doing the selfie thing but I felt that was a bit rude and took up way too much time/space.

I love hockey. I was born and raised in Buffalo so if the Sabres were to ever win in my lifetime I'd probably cry, but having a hockey town as my adopted home is pretty nice. Although, this whole winning thing feels weird.

The neighborhood is basically a giant frat party during Cubs games and there is a very high density of bars there, so it seems fairly natural to me.

'Go Cubs Go' should also be in the list of great Chicago sports songs.

I'd bet there's just as many bars in the West Loop, which makes infinitely more sense for celebrating, given that it's NEXT TO THE STADIUM.

Pretty boring game last night. Good for the Hawks, I'm not exactly a fan but I've been known to wear this shirt from time to time

I think the Bolts have a lot to look forward to in the years to come. Their 2 best players this year were hurt by the end, which will hurt anyone's chances, but they're also 21 and 24 years old and are only just getting their feet wet at this point. Oh, and that Stamkos guy is there too. They will be a force for years to come.

Born in Buffalo and now in Pittsburgh. They won their last cup right before I moved here - I believed their bad luck since then was my fault for being Buffalo-born and in the city. Still feels weird to have a team here that can win, even if they haven't as of late.

Super happy for the Hawks. Still hoping Kane finds some loophole in his contract that permits him to sign with the Sabres for the rest of his career.

A boy can dream.

Yeah, but there's just something extra-obnoxious about it, playing this already-annoying song in a derisive context; it's not quite insult to injury, but there's the asinine motivation behind it, too. It's like the stupidest goat-getting scheme, where you're like yeah, it's that dumb song again, but there's such a stupid glee behind it, and that's what elevates the annoyingness; it's as though"I'm not touching you!" and "U mad, bro?" made this bastard monster baby that's got countless hands, none of which are touching you, and three mouths, one saying it isn't touching you over and over, one asking if you're mad over and over, and a third one that's frozen in this idiotic self-satisfied grin. It's the grin that turns it into the ne plus ultra of annoying obnoxion.

I've mellowed with age, but that song plays me like a xylophone with one bar.

The celebration on the street in Calgary when we won the FIRST ROUND against the Canucks was, sorry, bigger and way more inclusive than what you had in Chicago or what you'd find in any ridiculous sunbelt hockey market. Calgary has about 1/7 of the population of the Chicago metro area.

The next time the cup is won by a Canadian team- any Canadian team- you fans in Chicago (and all three of you in Anaheim, etc) will see what the Stanley Cup really means. We won't just be celebrating in the white part of town either.

Also why are you booing Bettman? He loves US markets- jerks off to them. A Chicago-NY series would make him come multiply. He's the most hated man in Canada but he fucking loves your mythic big markets because he doesn't get that for all intents and purposes Americans do not give a flying fuck about hockey.
