The Book Graphics blog collects thousands of gorgeous covers and illustrations, with special emphases on Russian artists, fairy tales, and antiquarian books.
Good call; I've been an avid follower for a couple of years.
(though there's probably a good argument to be made that they left 'fair use' somewhere way back in the rear-view mirror before heading into copyright infringement territory by presenting soooo many illustrations from each book. So it's a bit of a guilty pleasure for me.)

There are some nice samples of the work of Vladislav Erko, who has also illustrated some beautiful sets of playing cards.
